Hi, I’m Vincent.
I build Nextbot. By day I’m a software developer at ipt, a Swiss IT consulting company. By night (and weekends), robotics is what actually gets me excited.
I did not arrive here in a straight line. I started with law and economics in St. Gallen, spent a stretch studying economics in Chile, and then went back to the beginning and took a bachelor’s in electrical engineering at TUM, followed by a master’s, a technology management programme at CDTM, and a few months at MIT’s Center for Collective Intelligence working on Climate CoLab.
Four disciplines is an inefficient way to get to one job. It is also the reason I find robotics so hard to put down: it refuses to sit in a single field. Mechanics, control, software, safety, regulation and economics all have to be right at once, and the interesting failures almost always happen in the gaps between them.
Somewhere in there I helped get Switzerland’s largest tech conference off the ground, which taught me more about how a technical community actually forms than any amount of reading did. Nextbot comes out of the same instinct: Europe is building serious robotics, and almost nobody is telling those stories to the people doing the work.
Off the clock I do improv and stand-up, which is far more useful to an engineer than it sounds, both are mostly about noticing what is actually happening and responding to it honestly. Otherwise: non-fiction by the stack, travelling, and getting outdoors as often as the weather allows.
The offer stands: coffee, or a beer.
If you work in robotics anywhere in Europe or you just want to argue about it, I would genuinely rather talk to you than not. No agenda, no pitch. Find me and say hello.
