Come on the show.
Nextbot is interviews with the people building robotics in Europe. If you are working on something you could talk about for an hour without slides, I want to hear from you.
Before you write
- How do you pick guests?
- I go looking for people whose work I can already read, like a blog, a talk, a repository, a thesis. If you have put something into the world about what you build, that is the strongest possible pitch. If you have not, say so; it is not a barrier, it just means we will spend longer working out the shape of the conversation.
- Do I need to be famous, or senior?
- No. The engineer three years into a hard problem is usually a better guest than the executive describing it from above.
- Do you take sponsored guests?
- No. Nobody pays to appear, and nobody will. If the goal is to launch or showcase a product, this isn't the right show for that. We put real effort into making every episode genuinely helpful and valuable for our listeners, and that only holds up if guest selection stays independent of who's paying.
- Can I sponsor an episode?
- Yes. Sponsorship is a separate, transparent way to support the podcast, help it grow, and reach our audience. In exchange, sponsors get: 1) listed as sponsor in the episode description, 2) your logo shown in the video recording, and 3) a 30-second pre- or mid-roll ad in the recording.
- Does it have to be Europe?
- Mostly, yes. If you are building elsewhere but the story is genuinely about the European ecosystem, pitch it anyway.
- How does the recording work?
- We record on Riverside, which runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install. It is video as well as audio, so it is worth sitting somewhere you are happy to be seen. Before we record, we have a short call to work out the shape of the conversation, and I send you the questions in advance. Nothing in the interview will be a question you have not already seen.
- What actually happens next?
- I read it, and I reply either way. Nothing is recorded yet, so early pitches are shaping what the first episodes look like rather than slotting into a schedule.
